I remember when I was a young mom with babies and the chaos of sleep deprivation and long days. One day, a magazine showed up in the mail called Home Monastery. The idea of a Home Monastery was such a comfort and inspiration to my mind. It gave me something to aim for. What does that look like and how do I go about achieving this? How can I instill an order towards God in my little, raggedy home? I've been seeking this idea ever since. I dont know if I've achieved it, exactly. Order isnt really something that comes easily to me. Most of my kids are grown now and busy with lives of their own, but visual reminders of God's order and beauty keep our family focused on the good things above, and also help enrich home life. I have found a loveliness in creating a home altar and establishing nightly prayer around this. Lighting candles sets a prayful mood.
